Mary Woods is a graduate of North Central High School, Indiana Business College, Oakland City University, and Walden University. Mary attained a doctorate degree in Leadership and Organizational Change with Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 2018. She completed military service with the United States Army – Indiana National Guard of the 138th Finance Battalion and is a highly decorated veteran. Mary’s deployed assignments resided in Germany and Kosovo, where she performed financial duties for soldiers and civilians in the common sector. A few qualifications include identifying and implementing process improvements, maintaining financial records, and balancing currency and foreign exchanges.
Mary Woods has worked in the business field for over 20 years and over 10 years in the arena of education. Mary has vast knowledge in the banking industry, as she worked for PNC/National City Bank. Later Mary continued her finance tenure with Conseco in the Finance department. Additionally, Mary served as a Tamiouchos (Financial officer) in the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Tau Chapter; she was responsible for processing receipt catalogs, monthly reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Mary Woods currently works in the IPS school district educating seventh and eighth graders, as well as teach adult learners at the University of Indianapolis and Martin University. Mary’s educational philosophy is to engage the student in a diverse, unconventional, and kinesthetic collaborative experience.
